Lions Corner

Our Lion League fuels all school efforts with volunteerism, fundraising and support. As a parent you are already part of the PARENT/Teacher League (PTL) & Booster Club, and we want to know your strengths and how YOU can best serve the Lion League. There are several ways you can serve, opportunities for everyone's gifts and abilities. PTL offers support of all roles. Let us know your interests, strengths and preferences below:

To participate in any athletic team at North Academy, students must turn in a physical form to the front office and complete their before the start of the school year. Students may not receive their laptop until this action is complete. Contact Athletic Director John Slomcheck at 713.880.3131 with questions.

2023 - 2024 Student Council Blessing Project

August 24^th 2023 is a day that will stand out to former Lion, Imry Shrout-Jordan c/o 2023. Her parents and siblings had loaded up two cars and were accompanying her so that they could share in the joy and accomplishments of making it to Houston Christian University. Imry is very secure in her beliefs in God, who he is and what he accomplishes every single day! What Imry did not know was that this would be a day that God was going to use her to serve others.

As Imry became acquainted with her suite-mates, she noticed the shared bathroom had been used and seemed as though people were already living there. The bathroom needed some TLC but she wanted to be respectful of everyone’s shared space. Upon asking questions, her suite- mates revealed they were homeless, twin sisters who had suffered years of physical abuse at the hands of their mother, and had packed up and moved out after the last act of aggression from their mom. HCU had allowed them early arrival to put a roof over their heads; the girls are now working several jobs to make ends meet and to cover tuition, as well as marching in the band, and going to school. Imry called her mom to share, in tears, how blessed she felt in having all of the décor, food, goodies, loaded in her dorm and yet her suite-mates in need.

Imry approached her suite-mates, Terri and Byrd and asked how they felt about LNA sponsoring them for the 2023 2024 school year. There were many tears with a grateful and collective “Yes!” This opportunity was presented to our 2023-2024 student council and they voted unanimously to adopt the twins for their first year in college. We have attached a wish list of items that will help Terri and Bird's school year start smoothly and some that will just make their day. Anything is appreciated!
